Castrol Molub-Alloy ™ 6040 grease is based on a unique sulfonate thickener with a calcium complex containing premium petroleum base oils with selected additives for extreme pressure properties.
Calcium sulfonate thickeners have antioxidant and anticorrosive properties, as well as drip points and extreme pressure (EP) / anti-wear properties. The use of this complex thickener offers advantages over other thickeners of organic fats, such as polyurea. It also works better than inorganic ones such as aluminum bentonites or colloidal silica.
Application area
• Slide / journal bearings or roller bearings for applications operating in extreme environmental conditions, such as
in rolling mills and continuous rolling mills in steel mills, as well as in the forming and pressing section of paper mills;
• Applications with frequent starts, low speeds, or where high loads and shock loads such as
as in mining equipment;
• Low-speed, high-load connecting systems, widely used in metal rolling mills and at high
power transmission, for example, in curved gear couplings;
• Applications where resistance to aggressive process water and protection against aggressive environments
highly sought after.
