Castrol Molub-Alloy ™ OG 968 SF Heavy (formerly known as Molub-Alloy ™ 968 SF Heavy) is an open gear lubricant specifically developed for use in heavy-duty mining and industrial equipment. The Molub-Alloy ™ OG 968 SF Heavy is designed to provide maximum protection for gears and rails for mining and industrial equipment while minimizing environmental pollution. Castrol Molub-Alloy products include a proprietary solid lubricant particulate complex to improve anti-wear properties and ability to withstand heavy loads. This complex works in synergy with anti-wear and extreme pressure additives to reduce contact temperatures, while providing excellent protection against welding under extreme pressure and shock loads. The structural integrity and strength of the lubricating film is especially important in the process of running in new gears, since freshly processed surfaces have roughnesses (roughnesses). The lubricating film must separate the mating surfaces in order to soften the effect of the contact of irregularities, and thus minimize the initial pitting, which over time can lead to devastating consequences. A viscous, highly refined paraffin oil product is the base fluid with excellent natural chemical and thermal stability. The composition of the Molub-Alloy ™ OG 968 SF Heavy allows the lubricant to spread easily during the formation of the film, however, this product is resistant to extrusion and holds well even on vertically oriented gears. Corrosion and oxidation inhibitors are included in the product to protect equipment and lubricating film from corrosion and oxidation in harsh climates.

All kinds of open gears, rails and rollers, gear racks and gears, bucket arms and other parts of mining equipment. The Molub-Alloy ™ OG 968 SF Heavy can be applied either manually or using powerful automation systems. This product is widely used in mining and construction equipment, equipment of coastal and offshore drilling rigs, providing effective lubrication and protection of: rack and pinion lifting systems; equipment of systems for moving drilling platforms; gearing and sliding surfaces of mooring winches; loading equipment of floating platforms; rotary rings and gears of crane installations; threads of pressure pipelines; wire ropes and ropes. The Molub-Alloy OG 968 SF Heavy complies with Bucyrus International SD 4713 (CAT) and Komatsu Specification for Open Gear Lubricants.
Benefits
It was created taking into account environmental requirements - it contains no solvents, lead, antimony and barium. It forms a strong film with a "shock-absorbing" effect, even under extreme pressure and at very low speeds. The film is resistant to washing out by rain or wet snow, does not exfoliate in the presence of dust. The film does not collapse when oil and grease get from nearby mechanisms.
