Application area
Castrol Alphasyn PG is a synthetic gear oil based on polyalkingol oils expanded with antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, additives with high thermal stability and extreme pressure additives (EP).
Castrol Alphasyn PG transmission oil is primarily intended for use in worm gearboxes, where the low coefficient of friction of the base polyalkingol-oil increases the efficiency and, accordingly, reduces energy costs and operating temperatures. This is especially important in operations where slip contact is required. The use of a base polyalkinglingole oil provides a high viscosity index (VI) and a low pour point for Castrol Alphasyn PG, so it is suitable for use in a wide temperature range.
Benefits
- Low coefficient of friction reduces energy consumption and lowers operating temperatures, which leads to a longer oil life.
- Good thermal and oxidative stability ensures reliable operation and increases operating cycles compared with products based on mineral oils.
- Initially, a high viscosity index makes the product suitable for operations over a wide temperature range.
- High bearing capacity and good wear resistance reduce maintenance costs.
