Castrol Braycote 194 is a dark brown, liquid anti-corrosion compound designed for internal storage of products from various metals. It is a solvent-reducing substance designed for cold application and dries after about two hours, leaving a solid amber-clear film that does not flow below 175 ° F (80 ° C).
Scope of application
- Castrol Braycote 194 is designed to protect unpainted metal surfaces from corrosion in a room or under a canopy for one year.
- It does not cause corrosion and easily wetts the surfaces of commonly used metals, leaving a continuous film after evaporation of the solvent.
- This product can be applied by spraying, dipping or brushing. A gallon will cover 300 to 1,600 square feet, leaving a film 1 to 4 millimeters thick, depending on the application method and surface geometry.
- Optimum performance can only be achieved when the protected metal surfaces are clean, dry, free from rust, oil or scale.
- It is recommended that the metal substrate and ambient temperature be between 50–95 ° F (10–35 ° C) during application.
Additional Information:
Removal. Castrol Braycote 194 can be removed from exposed surfaces by degreasing with steam, hot caustic, a volatile or petroleum solvent.
