Castrol Optigear ™ Synthetic PD is a line of synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) gear oils and Castrols advanced additive system that delivers exceptional plastic deformation (PD) and improved surface quality. The additive complex, which is activated at especially high loads and corresponding temperatures, helps to smooth the surface roughness without mechanical (abrasive) wear (plastic deformation). Optigear Synthetic PD is a CLP-HC class gear oil (according to DIN 51502) that exceeds the minimum requirements of DIN 51517 (Part 3 - CLP gear oils) and contains detergent additives.
Application
Optigear Synthetic PD can be used in spur gears and bevel gears or planetary gears and for the lubrication of heavily loaded gears.
In addition, it is suitable for lubricating oil-lubricated rolling bearings.
