Castrol Rustilo Aqua 498 is a highly effective water-based corrosion inhibitor containing mineral oil and carefully selected anti-corrosion components. After evaporation of the aqueous phase, Castrol Rustilo Aqua 498 forms an oily film on the surface that is similar in efficiency to the films formed by solvent-based inhibitors.

Scope of application

Castrol Rustilo Aqua 498 can be used to protect most ferrous metal parts from corrosion, but it is especially effective for pipes, rods and other products of simple shapes, where the evaporation time of the substrate can be optimized. For such products, Castrol Rustilo Aqua 498 can provide protection during long-term storage and when transported by sea, provided that the packaging is appropriate.
