Additive Sigbol is a complex compound based on a salt of an organic acid and a polymer component in a solution of toluene or xylene. Sigbol antistatic additive (TU 38.101741-78) is the only additive approved for use in domestic jet fuels.
Application area
Sigbol antistatic additive in a concentration of not more than 0,0005% of the mass. It is approved for use in aviation gasolines and jet fuels and is also widely used to ensure the safety of work with hydrocarbon liquids (at a concentration of about 0.001% by weight) used for washing, wiping various products and equipment and in the manufacture of adhesives for rubber products. At a concentration of more than 0.01-0.03%, it can be used as an antiwear additive for fuels (if the quantity and fuel consumption during application are not measured by the electric capacitive method, since Sigbol additive sharply increases the specific volumetric electrical conductivity of fuels).
Benefits
- Sigbol antistatic additive does not adversely affect any physico-chemical and operational properties of jet fuels with a content of up to 0.01% (mass fraction) and, in addition to antistatic, significantly improves anti-wear and corrosion properties;
- The antistatic effect of the Sigbol additive is based on increasing the electrical conductivity of the fuel, which inevitably leads to a reduction to zero of all electrical parameters characterizing the electrification of the fuel (the amount of charge transferred in the discharge, the electric potential of the fuel surface, etc.);
- Additive Sigbol and fuel with this additive are stable structures and have a guaranteed shelf life of at least 5 years in metal containers (tanks).
