Application area
In vacuum technology, PEFs are ideally suited for use as fluids for diffusion pumps, lubricants, and working fluids in vacuum pumps, for example, in the manufacture of semiconductors. Also, PEFs are used for compressors and valves operating in aggressive environments (halogens, gaseous acids, etc.), as lubricants for centrifuges in the production of uranium.
In aircraft, rocket science, PEF can be used as lubricant in extreme conditions, for example, in jet engines, in high-temperature turbine engines and satellite devices.
In electronics, PEFs can be used as electrically insulating liquids and coolants.
Low surface energy and high stability of PEF makes them an excellent protective material for stone, in particular, for easily destructible limestone, brick. Functional PEFs (acids, alcohols) give good results in this area. PEF penetrate the pores and prevent the penetration of water, thereby contributing to the preservation of structures.
