Mobil Cylinder oils are high-performance, high-viscosity oils designed for use in closed worm gears operating at moderate to high speeds and temperatures, and also where high-viscosity oils are required for heavy loads, low speeds or high temperatures. They are also intended for use in steam engine cylinders. They are made from high quality base oils that are resistant to oxidation and thermal decomposition, as well as to the accumulation of harmful deposits caused by high operating temperatures of steam cylinders. They protect against rust and corrosion, provide good film strength and excellent lubricity, and are resistant to water washout.
Mobil 600W ™ Cylinder Oil, Mobil 600W ™ Super Cylinder Oil and Mobil ™ Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil complement them, improving their frictional and load-bearing properties. All four members of the product family are widely used in worm gears, couplings and bearings with viscosity grade depending on operating conditions. In steam systems Mobil 600W Super Cylinder Oil is recommended for saturated and superheated steam up to a temperature of 260ºC. Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder and Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder can be used with superheated steam above 260ºC. Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil Mineral has a good demulsifying ability. Mobil Cylinder oils can be applied both with drip cups and with forced-feed mechanical lubricators.

Application area
- Spray lubrication of closed worm gears operating at moderate to high speeds and temperatures. (Mobil Cylinder Oil 600 W);
- Steam cylinders, couplings, bearings and running-in compressor cylinders (Mobil 600 W Cylinder Oil);
- Mobil 600W Super Cylinder Oil and Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Oil are recommended for the above applications, but at higher temperatures and load conditions;
- Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Mineral is recommended in cases where a ready separation from condensate is necessary, for example, when the exhaust steam is used for technological work;
- Mobil Extra Hecla Super Cylinder Mineral can also be used as quenching oil at bath temperatures up to 290ºC.
