Mobil GARD M440 (Code: )

Mobilgard ™ M is a high-performance engine oil recommended for use on deep-sea vessels, coastal and river vessels operating on fuel oil (HFO).

This product provides:

  • Excellent high temperature oxidation
  • Outstanding residual fuel compatibility
  • Good heat resistance
  • Low volatility
  • High load-bearing properties
  • Excellent corrosion protection.

Corrosion protection

Mobilgard alkalinity reserves provide superior protection against the neutralization of strong acids resulting from the use of high sulfur fuels, reducing corrosion and, in turn, maintenance and repair costs.

Mobilgard provides excellent BN retention and resistance to increased viscosity, helping to increase component life and cleaning intervals, as well as minimize filter replacement and purifier maintenance. It's the same:

  • Helps protect piston bottoms from deposits caused by dilution of crude fuel.
  • Optimizes the life of critical wear surfaces due to outstanding anti-wear properties
  • Minimizes oil consumption due to low base stock volatility

Benefits

  • Decrease in deposits in the areas under the piston and ring belt;
  • Extends the life of critical wear surfaces;
  • Reducing the formation of sludge, increasing the life of the oil, clean engines;
  • Protects wear-resistant surfaces from water and acid corrosion;
  • Combats corrosion and fuel / combustion deposits;
  • Reduced lubricant consumption.

Application area

Mobilgard oil can be used on most medium-speed piston engines. Recommended for use in main power and auxiliary engines on deep-sea vessels; in the main movers on coastal and river vessels; and in stationary power plants. This oil is the result of an extensive research and development program including the patented ExxonMobil DAC test (detection of asphaltene contamination).

Mobilgard is designed to meet the needs of heavy fuel engines. It is recommended for use in medium-speed diesel engines of the latest model and is especially useful in engines with low oil consumption in the crankcase or cylinder liners operating at low temperatures. The relatively high alkalinity reserves in this oil provide excellent protection against the neutralization of strong acids resulting from the use of high sulfur fuels, which find access to the engine crankcase to accelerate oil decomposition and corrosion of rings, cylinders and bearings.
