Benefits
- Strong degreaser for cleaning engines;
- Removes oil, grease and deposits from engines, chassis and other parts;
- Highly effective solvent with corrosion inhibitors;
- Also ideal for removing stains of resin from painted parts of a car or oil from cement coatings (not tar).
Application area
Cleanliness in circulating lubrication systems, such as paper machines and turbines, is necessary for adequate cooling and lubricant consumption, as well as for the life of the lubricant and bearings. It is recommended that the circulating lubrication systems that have been used for extended periods of time be cleaned to remove accumulations of varnish, carbon, sludge or other process contaminants from the oil supply and return lines, bearings and other elements of the lubrication system. Cleaning may also be required before installing a new lubricant oil charge or when introducing a new brand of lubricant.
Note. To avoid contamination, the Mobil System Cleaner should be stored in closed containers. Product barrels should be stored on their sides.
Procedures for Using the Mobil System Cleaner: Use the Mobil System Cleaner in accordance with the procedures below. Before starting the process, the user should consult with their sales representative.
Note regarding filters and filtration: additional filters will be required to handle the amount of varnish and other deposits that are expected to be removed from the system. Filters must be replaced immediately before adding the Mobil System Cleaner so that the cleaner does not break the material already in the filters and does not scatter it back into the system. Filters must also be replaced before adding flushing oil and / or before adding final filling. During the cleaning procedure, be prepared to change the filters several times a day.
1. Add the Mobil System Cleaner to the tank with a 5% oil concentration when the system is operating at normal speed and temperature. The system should work for at least 24 hours with this mixture. Your sales representative can advise you on the exact time, which depends on the size of the system and the current cleanliness.
2. After the Mobil System Cleaner has circulated for the recommended time, immediately drain the system. A quick oil drain will maximize the amount of suspended insoluble substances and remove them along with the oil and reduce the need to manually clean the pan. Any auxiliary tanks, secondary sumps, large bearings with drain valves, etc. should also be drained at this time.
3. Flush the system with approved flushing oil. Consult your sales representative if in doubt about the oil to be used for flushing.
4. If the volume of oil and cleaner remaining in the system after flushing and draining is 10% or less of the system volume, re-flushing is not required. If the amount exceeds 10% or there is uncertainty about the amount, the system must be cleaned again.
5. If a second flush is indicated, fill the system with approved flushing oil or recommended long-term lubricant to a level at which oil circulation can be achieved. Circulate the system at normal operating temperature at least five times, then drain the water in accordance with Step 2 above.
6. After completing the flushing phase, fill the system with fresh grease of the appropriate viscosity grade.
